Santiago de Compostela, Spain – 20 August 2026 – Oncostellae, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing innovative therapies for immune-mediated diseases, today announced its participation in Desafía Boston 2026, an intensive immersion and acceleration program organized by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones and the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Chicago, taking place in Boston from October 21–30, 2026.

Desafía Boston is designed to help selected Spanish biotechnology companies strengthen their presence in the U.S. and establish connections with the Boston life sciences ecosystem, one of the world’s leading hubs for biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovation. The program combines executive training, expert mentoring, visits to leading healthcare and innovation organizations, and direct engagement with investors, pharmaceutical companies and other key industry stakeholders.

During the program, Oncostellae will focus on strengthening its U.S. strategy for OST-122, its lead clinical program for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and on developing relationships with potential pharmaceutical partners, investors and clinical experts. The program will also provide opportunities to deepen the company’s understanding of the U.S. healthcare and regulatory environment, FDA requirements and financing strategies relevant to biotechnology companies entering the U.S. market.

“Boston represents an exceptional environment for advancing our U.S. strategy and engaging with leading experts across the pharmaceutical, clinical and investment communities,” said Guido Kurz, PhD, CEO of Oncostellae. “We are particularly looking forward to using the Desafía program to expand our network in the United States and explore opportunities to accelerate the development of OST-122 for patients with inflammatory bowel disease.”

A key component of the program will be a Demo Day, providing participating companies with an opportunity to present their businesses to investors, mentors and biotechnology experts. Participants will also receive individualized mentoring to support their U.S. market-access and growth strategies.

Oncostellae is currently preparing OST-122 for a Phase 2b clinical trial in ulcerative colitis. The gut-restricted JAK inhibitor is designed to provide therapeutic activity in the gastrointestinal tract while minimizing systemic exposure and the safety liabilities associated with systemic JAK inhibition.
